The core value of justice in counseling ethics emphasizes fairness, equity, and the importance of recognizing and respecting diversity among clients. This principle is central to ensuring that all clients have access to the same quality of services and that they are treated with the respect they deserve, regardless of their background, culture, or identity. By focusing on equitable treatment, counselors promote an inclusive environment that acknowledges the unique differences of each individual, thus enhancing overall therapeutic outcomes.

This approach contrasts with other options. Encouraging clients to make their own choices aligns more closely with the value of autonomy rather than justice, as it centers on empowering individuals rather than addressing systemic issues of fairness. Ensuring confidentiality is critical to maintaining trust and professionalism in the counseling relationship, but it does not directly address the concept of justice. Lastly, offering services without professional boundaries can lead to ethical violations and does not reflect the equitable treatment that justice advocates. Therefore, the correct choice encapsulates the essence of justice by prioritizing diversity, equity, and respect in the counseling process.
